Ryan heard about the 2008 event through the
Facebook ad. He was looking for an opportunity to get involved in his community
but was not sure where to start - Timeraiser offered him the starting
point. Ryan has completed his pledge by
volunteering with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation and Habitat for
Humanity. Ryan loved the Timeraiser
concept and joined in the planning efforts for the 2009 event. It has been an
incredibly rewarding year of learning for Ryan and he feels a great debt to Timeraiser
for giving him the start he needed. | John surpassed his 100 hour pledge and successfully completed over 127 volunteer hours. He chose to volunteer with a number of organizations including:
| Tami first heard about the Timeraiser through a friend and decided to check it out. The first organization she met at theTimeraiser was Santa In The City and that ended up being the organization she completed her pledge of 150 hours with. She was a bit worried at first about reaching the target of 150 hours because she has never volunteered to such an extent. It was with volunteering with Santa In The City that she was able to fulfill her Timeraiser pledge, while at the same time fulfilling a child’s wish for Christmas. One of the children asked for tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tami was able to get him something even better than tickets to the game, she arranged for him to attend an early morning Leafs practice where he was able to meet and greet with some of the players. Tami surpassed her original goal of 150 hours by December and is thrilled to continue on with work with Santa In the City. |
